Steve Piticco the Telecaster Master

Wednesday Sept 10th 7PM Steve Piticco the Telecaster Master joined by Kurk Bernard & Rodney Arsenault
In the 80’s & 90’s it was difficult to tune in to a country music station without hearing the unmistakable, “one-of-a-kind” sound of Steve Piticco and his 1976 Fender Telecaster guitar! When it comes to pickers, Steve is in a class of his own setting the benchmark for seasoned professionals and aspiring players alike.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Steve began playing guitar at age eleven. On his fifteenth birthday, Steve acquired his Fender Telecaster guitar, and he’s been ‘one’ with that telecaster ever since. In January 1976, Steve became a full time, professional touring musician. His lengthy session recording career began 2 years later. If you get him talking about some of his road stories, you’re sure to be fascinated.

As a result of his distinctive sound and style, Steve has toured and recorded with an endless list of the who’s who in country music.

The Canadian Country Music Association (C.C.M.A.) has recognized his talents by awarding him “Guitar Player of the Year” and “Instrumentalist of the Year” on numerous occasions.

Steve was presented with 3 Central Canadian Bluegrass Awards for “Flat Picker of the Year.”

The recognition of Steve’s talents by the “Dutch Country Music Association” of the Netherlands had them presenting Steve with four “Gram Awards” for “International Instrumentalist”. These were true international wins as Steve defeated world renowned players such as Chet Atkins, Mark O’Connor, Paul Franklin and Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, to name a few.

An appearance on a Nashville television program brought the following comments from seasoned Nashville session players, “he can’t be from this planet” and “it should be against the law to play like that!

In his more than 49 years of playing music professionally, Steve is blessed to say he has played with almost all his musical influences throughout the years.

When it comes to country guitarists, Steve Piticco is world class!
