Stars of Stompin’ Tom’s road show and the CBC’s Tommy Hunter Show. For 4 decades, this band has been performing their unique brand of Canadian country music across North America. In the 1980’s, they were featured weekly on CBC TV’s Tommy Hunter Show. It was during those years when a retired Stompin’ Tom Connors would sit in front of his TV every Friday night to watch Whiskey Jack’s featured segment, “The Ol’ Back Porch”. It was then he became a Whiskey Jack fan, enjoying the humour and their stellar musicianship, along with 2 million of his fellow Canadians. Eventually, Stompin’ Tom returned to the recording studio and the road and he soon thereafter called Whiskey Jack’s leader Duncan Fremlin and asked if the band was available to join him in the studio to record his acclaimed album, “Dr. Stompin’ Tom… Eh?”. A few weeks later, they departed on another national tour. These two Canadian musical institutions would continue to perform and record often together until Tom’s death in 2014.
This all star band includes founding member and band leader, Duncan Fremlin (Vocal & Banjo), two time Juno Award nominee (Mona With Her Children) Douglas John Cameron (Vocal & Guitar/Accordion), Five time National Bluegrass Fiddle Champion, Randy Morrison (Fiddle) with support by bass player Eric Jackson (Humber River Valley Boys) and Al Cross on drums (Big Sugar).BACK TO ARTISTS ARTIST WEBSITE
